Riboclub

The Riboclub was created by laboratories at the Faculté de Médecine (Université de Sherbrooke) who share an interest in different aspects of RNA structure and function. The founding members are currently supported by a FCAR group grant on the structure and function of RNPs. The group actively collaborates to gain a better understanding of the roles of RNA and RNA-binding proteins in processes like RNA maturation events, RNA catalysis, etc. Currently, RiboClub members are located in different universities around North America and this platform was created to help communications between these members and to provide RNA related tools.

Opening Session

This tool is used to dynamically manage registrations for the RiboClub convention. This product has been used for the last three years with an average of 200 registrations every year. Many functionalities are available to the administrator like automatic booklet generation, report generation, automatic billing, etc. The administrator can also send reminder messages to participants and monitor registrations.

RiboSubstrates

This module helps scientists in the design of different ribozymes. The engine identifies the possible targets of a designed ribozyme on different cDNA banks freely available on the Internet.

LabCollector

The software developed by AgileBio to manage strains, oligos, samples, plasmids and other lab materials was integrated in the RiboClub platform. We have developed some new components to analyse data stored under this product and to provide synchronizations with existing data sets.

MfoldViewer

This web application facilitates the use of the mfold program developed by Dr Zuker (Zuker M, Science, 1989) for RNA structure prediction. The interfaces allows users to specify fold constraints and parameters. Once the RNA is folded, they can move and zoom on the 2D structure with an interface similar to the one from Mapquest.com.
